Orrin Pilkey ('52)
World-renowned oceanographer and has appeared on national networks....ABC, NBC, and perhaps CBS, when there have been storms and El Ninos affecting the oceans and fisheries.
Marjorie Casebier McCoy ('52RIP)
Marjorie was a Professor at Berkley. She wrote 3 books on Dying, and Grief and Loss. She had been the ASB President in her Senior year (first female to hold that position) and was a member of National Honor Society. She wrote her first book after sitting beside her mother, watching her die of cancer. She died about 16-17 years ago of cancer and her death notice was in the Spokesman-Review where they listed deaths of people of note. Her Master's Degree was in Religion in the Dramatic Arts. She was a great catcher on North Richland's Hand's Drug Baseball team, and a good basketball player on our North Richland United Protestant Basketball team.

Meteorologist with the National Weather Bureau, and has made appearances on television when weather has become big news... explaining the nuances of certain weather patterns and their affects on air travel and other significant effects.

Fred "Gus" Gustavson ('61)
Gus began a long and distingused career in the U.S. Navy. After he graduated from the Naval Academy in 1965 he eventually achieved the rank of Rear Admiral. Gus was a submarine commander and senior instructor and was promoted to a group command in 1993 and assigned resposiblitiy for the operations of a force of 13 nuclear submarines, two repair ships, two dry docks and a shore support facility.
